St. Cloud nonprofits can gain financial knowledge at informative Financial Management Workshops on Tuesday, September 26 and Tuesday, October 31, 2006 from 8:30am to 11:30 am.  Resource Training and Solutions (RTS) is sponsoring Nonprofits Assistance Fund to bring Understanding Nonprofit Financial Statements and Calculating True Program Costs workshops to the RTS Center at 4150 2^nd Street South in St. Cloud, MN.

Calculating True Program Costs will discuss what program costs are, why nonprofits need to be aware of them, and how to report them.  By examining their own programs, nonprofits can help ensure that costs are being covered and allocated appropriately.  Nonprofits will also be able to create more accurate budget forecasts and make adjustments before financial difficulties appear.  Understanding program costs will also assist development staff when writing grants.  All nonprofits need to understand how to calculate true program costs when filing a 990.

Making sense of financial statements can be confusing to someone new to nonprofits.  Nonprofits Assistance Fund helps clear up some of the mystery with Understanding Nonprofit Financial Statements.  This financial management workshop helps nonprofit staff understand the terminology, see what the reports are telling, and know what to look for.  Being able to understand nonprofit financial statements is vital to anyone that works with a nonprofit organization.
