MINNEAPOLIS, April 19, 2007 — Nonprofits Assistance Fund (NAF), a nonprofit community development financial institution, today announced that Michael Wirth-Davis has been elected to the board of directors. Wirth-Davis’ experience and industry knowledge will play a crucial role as NAF strives to continue fostering community development and vitality by helping build financially healthy nonprofit organizations.
President and CEO of Goodwill/Easter Seals in Minnesota since 1990, Wirth-Davis plays a very active role in the community. He currently serves on numerous boards and committees including: Minnesota Quality Award Panel of Judges, Books for Africa Ambassadors Circle, Minnesota Council of Nonprofits Public Policy Advisory Committee and the Hamline/Midway Leadership Committee. At a national level, Wirth-Davis is involved with Goodwill Industries International and the Easter Seals National Leadership Association.
“Nonprofits Assistance Fund has such a strong presence in the nonprofit community and has been able to help numerous nonprofits across the state,” said Wirth-Davis. “I’m looking forward to joining the board and helping the organization to continue its tradition of providing expert financial management advice and assistance and fostering partnerships with nonprofits.”
Beyond his extensive community involvement, Wirth-Davis is an adjunct professor at Hamline University and at the University of Minnesota’s Humphrey Institute. He is the author of the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities’ (CARF) monograph on Building an Ethics Program and co-author of the CARF Outcome Management monograph.

Nonprofits Assistance Fund provides financing for working capital, cash flow, equipment and facilities projects with a focus on strengthening the operation and mission of nonprofits.
